This home is the second of three designed on Tanager Way, a tiny but very exclusive street in West Hollywood set on its own promontory with some of the best views in the city. The house captures sweeping westerly views across Beverly Hills to Santa Monica and the ocean, with peek-a-boo views of downtown LA from the office above the garage entrance.

The house is approached through a gated courtyard, screened from the street by a water wall and tall olive trees. A water element in the courtyard reflects the kitchen beyond at night and lets visitors see straight through to the expansive view. Walls of glass slide away to merge the living spaces with the pool and outdoor terrace; the pool surrounds the master bedroom on two sides, with a private Jacuzzi tucked away and a Baja shelf separating the master from the entertaining areas. The master bath contains its own water-filled courtyard with a privacy waterfall.

The main level holds living, dining, kitchen, the master suite with his-and-hers closets, two additional bedrooms, and an office. The lower level adds two more bedrooms, plus a family room with bar and a media room wrapped in wood that reads as a singular sculptural element within the space. The white-on-white palette reflects the owner’s brief: the quintessential Hollywood entertaining house.
